My Kundalini Yoga class today was dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of the most courageous and inspiring humans there ever was. In honor of the way Dr. King embodied his Truth, didn’t let fear hold him back, and fought tirelessly for the good of humanity, we DANCED.
With the EDM turned up high, my teacher told us to SHAKE.
Shake out the fear.
Shake out the lies we tell ourselves.
Shake out the shitty things people have said to us.
Shake out the sadness we feel for our planet.
Shake out the voice that says we aren’t smart enough, pretty enough, accomplished enough, wealthy enough, confident enough, healthy enough, creative enough, or talented enough.
SHAKE IT ALL OUT.
It took all of two minutes before the tears started rolling down my cheeks.
I started thinking about some big steps I am taking right now in my life and business. The thing about taking big steps is it’s scary AF. It’s scary because we risk getting hurt. The thing about not taking big steps is we risk playing small and never going after our dreams. The empowering thing about both options is we get to choose which risk is worth taking.
This year I am committed to taking those big steps. The risk of pain and disappointment outweighs living in integrity, manifesting my dreams, and serving the world in the way that I desire.
As I shook away my fears and danced out my insecurities, I stepped into a new mantra: I AM A BOLD, BRAVE, BADASS.
And so are you. No more playing small. You’ve got this.
Ask Yourself: What fear/limiting belief/old story are you ready to shake out today?
